Following last month’s announcement that Nintendo game producer Shigeru Miyamoto would leave the company in July, EA announced earlier this evening at a press conference that they would be working with Miyamoto to create several new franchises in 2014.
“We are very honored to be working with Mr. Miyamoto, who has shown a big interest in our wide publication of franchises.”
said Larry Probst, temporary CEO of EA, at the press conference.
This turn of event might shine a bit of light on EA, which earlier this year received the award for ‘Worst company in America’ on comsumerist.com.
Miyamoto said in the press release announcing his partnership:
“I am happy to work with Electronic Arts, and as with my time with Nintendo, I believe I can apply many of my daily activities to create new franchises”.
Probst announced that Miyamoto would be re-booting the Medal of Honor franchise with a new installment scheduled for release in 2015.
